My experience at the Bithlo Back To School Bash

I have to say that the event held today or school supplies at the community center was the MOST disorganized and horrendous experience/event I have ever seen. I met several very kind people but others like Timothy McKinney were EXTREMELY rude to both my daughter and I. Tim, you should NOT have told me that i could keep my child in an air conditioned room so she could recover from being overheated as well as extreme sun exposure only if I would SHUT UP. Big mistake! I cared nothing for the backpack as can be shown since late people with no vouchers were already getting backpcks. I would hope that next year this event is run WITHOUT Timothy McKinney's assistance, as he has ZERO people skills. And anyone who doubts this, I have pictures of the exposure she got from being forced from AC to heat, back to AC, back to heat. Tim you are VERY lucky she did not pass out. Her BP while still in normal ranges, was still elevated above normal for her by 20-30 points. My child's health and well-being are worth much, much more than the ten dollars (generous estimate) worth of school supplies and backpack she received from you.

I was contacted by one of the mothers I know through the online DV groups. She has been severely abused by her ex partner in all ways imaginable from physically to emotionally and even financially. Most abused mothers are aware of these dynamics of abuse. I offered to create this site for her to document the treatment she received at a back to school event that is supposed to assist low income and struggling families. She has sent me her statement and I will put that in the next post. I am also asking other residents of East Orlando who until this point have either ignored or yes, even been afraid to document their experiences with the founder of this event can contact me.
